Mainly for rendering: turning approved scenes into video. Rendering is charged per second, so a longer clip costs more than a short one. The planning steps (track analysis, the chat about the treatment, the storyboard) also use a small part of your balance once you are signed in, but they are far cheaper than rendering. You approve the storyboard before the full render, so you see the plan for every scene before the expensive part starts.

A clip minute is one minute of finished video. Internally the balance is kept in credits and video is charged per second of render, so a 3-minute song costs roughly three times a 1-minute one. Plans show an approximate number of clip minutes per month next to the credit amount, so you do not have to do the conversion yourself. The number is approximate because chat and planning also consume a small part of the balance.

Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Both monthly and annual billing are offered — annual costs less per credit but commits you for a year, so check which period is selected before you pay. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the period you are in. Clips you already rendered stay available in your account, but download anything you care about: we do not promise to store finished files forever. If a payment or renewal looks wrong, contact support before assuming anything — we would rather sort it out than argue about it.

You keep all rights to your track. ClipChat does not claim ownership of the music you upload and does not license it to anyone. You can use the video you generate — including publishing and monetizing it — under the Terms of Service; read that page for the exact wording rather than relying on this summary. One condition is on your side: you must have the right to use the audio you upload, meaning your own recording or a track you are licensed to use. ClipChat does not generate music; it only makes video for a track you already have.
