Pricing in minutes of finished video.
No token maths. Every plan is a monthly budget of finished music-video minutes — plan the treatment in chat, render scene by scene, master it under your track.
One full music video a month. Plan it in chat, render every scene, master it under your own track.
Two full videos a month — or one video plus a stack of Shorts cut out of it.
For AI musicians putting out a track every week: about five full videos a month.
What people ask before they pay
What exactly is a ‘clip-minute’?
One minute of finished, rendered music video — every scene, cut to the song’s structure and mastered under your original track. Reckon on about 25,000 credits per minute at the default engine tier.
What quality do clips render in?
480p, vertical or landscape — built for TikTok, Reels and Shorts. Higher-resolution tiers are on the roadmap as a paid upgrade.
Do failed renders eat into my minutes?
No. A failed render refunds its credits automatically, and fixing scene 7 only re-renders scene 7.
What do I get for free, and do I need an account?
No account needed to start. Upload an audio file — MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC or OGG, up to 10 minutes — and in about 60 seconds you get a written interpretation of the track, up to 2 visual worlds and up to 6 scene cards with timecodes. That’s text and a storyboard, not video. Rendering video needs an account, and every new account gets a starter grant that covers one short clip.
What am I actually paying for?
Rendering, mostly — turning approved scenes into video. That’s billed per second, so a longer clip costs more than a short one. The planning steps (listening to the track, the chat about the treatment, the storyboard) take a small slice of your balance too once you’re signed in, but they’re far cheaper than rendering. You sign off the storyboard before the full render, so you’ve seen the plan for every scene before the expensive part starts.
What’s a clip-minute?
One minute of finished video. Under the bonnet your balance is held in credits and video is billed per second of render, so a 3-minute song costs roughly three times a 1-minute one. Each plan shows an approximate number of clip-minutes a month next to the credit amount, so you don’t have to do the sums yourself. It’s approximate because the chat and the planning take a small share of the balance as well.
Can I cancel, and what happens to the clips I’ve already made?
Plans renew automatically until you cancel. Monthly and annual billing are both offered — annual works out cheaper per credit but ties you in for a year, so check which period is selected before you pay. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund the period you’re in. Clips you’ve already rendered stay in your account, but download anything you care about: we don’t promise to keep finished files forever. If a payment or a renewal looks wrong, get in touch before you assume the worst — we’d far rather sort it out than argue about it.
Who owns the video, and what happens to the track I upload?
You keep every right to your track. ClipChat doesn’t claim ownership of the music you upload and doesn’t license it to anyone. You can use the video you generate — including publishing and monetising it — under the Terms of Service; read that page for the exact wording rather than relying on this summary. One condition sits on your side: you must have the right to use the audio you upload, meaning your own recording or a track you’re licensed to use. ClipChat doesn’t make music — it only makes video for a song you already have.
Why is the render 480p, and can I get 1080p?
480p in 9:16 is a pricing decision at this stage, not a technical ceiling. Video is billed per second of render, and every step up in resolution multiplies that several times over. At 480p a plan buys you a whole clip; at 1080p the same money buys a fragment. We’d rather you had a finished clip you can post and judge than a beautiful third of one. Higher resolution is planned as a separate paid upgrade, not a free switch. If you need HD for a final release, treat ClipChat’s output as the version you validate first.
